Mision Energes CarePoint Community report
September  2020

Reconstruction of houses

The last four months, we have been building some of the houses of the families who were affected by the tropical storm in May. We are almost finished with the project. The families are happy and eager to move into their new homes. The Vasquez's family is one of the affected families. They lost everything because of the storm but God provided them a new place. We are grateful to be a blessing for these families.
Food distribution:
We are providing food bags to the families. We distribute food bags twice a month to 85 families. We would like to continue supporting the children’s nutrition.
Tutorial Program
We are almost done with the school year. It has been very challenging for many of our children to continue studying during the pandemic. Some of their parents are not able to support their children academically because they not familiar with the technology or they cannot read and write. At the CarePoint, three of us, tutor and support the children. We serve small groups and reinforce their education, as they need it.

    Cultural Celebration:
This month we celebrated the 199th anniversary of the Independence Day of Guatemala. Usually, marching band, long runs and walks, and special performances at the school take place to honor this day. However, we were not able to conduct all these activities due the pandemic restrictions.

    Community Outreach:
We had a conference with pastors that are linked with Mision Energes through AMG organization. We talked to the pastors about the new normal. We also gave a hygiene kit for each pastor to take to their churches. We shared snack and lunch time with them.
    Bible Club:
This month we decided to reopen the youth bible club. We believed that it is necessary for them to spend time of fellowship and learn about God's grace and love together in person,

OUR PRAYER REQUEST IS THAT YOU WOULD PRAY:
      • We ask for God’s wisdom to making right decisions during this time, we need to constantly plan and adjust as needed
      • We pray for each person who is part of the ministry, for each person who is collaborating with us and joining us in prayers, walking with us during this difficult and uncertain time.

Remember that you can always write to your child using our online form.
Check out the best practices for writing on the same page!
